What a week!!!!.. Have you ever had one of those weeks that starts off relatively normally and then life hits you with a frying pan from the side, that you never saw coming???... That my friends has been my week!!.. It's at times like this that you realise just who is with you and will support you. We are so lucky to have these people in our lives , you know who they are, people we may see everyday or maybe just people we consider 'acquaintances' but step up when we need them.
I was discussing with a client this week how we as hairstylists can talk so openly and honestly in that short time you are with us. I have often laughed, cried and had some deep conversations with clients. We aren't just artists, we are, therapists, peace keepers, actors ( I have smiled through many a hangover) scientists, (seriously, you should see the lotions and potions we have to mix)and when you arrive at the salon something happens. We see you. How do we do this? Simply because you relax, you don't need to be dressed up or have your best face on, you don't need to pretend or put on a pretence, you just are simply you...
Let me introduce you to the talented Lucy Powers. Lucy came to me for a job nearly a year ago and finally joined the team in June. Lucy specialises and is London trained in ballayage. Lucy lives with her partner Dave and their 2 beautiful children. She likes. Chocolate, massages, tulips, gin and disney films. Lucy hates crowds, sweetcorn, spiders and being late

Today I'm going to talk to you about quick holiday hair . Last week we talked about looking after the condition of your hair but let's face it, it can be as shiny as you like but if it's hanging in salty glumps all down your face this will never be a sexy beach look. I have short hair with a long fringe so all you short haired ladies need a little help too....
I have spent the last week in Qatar and although stunning it was so hot you could cook your breakfast on the bonnet of the car ( really , I'm not kidding!!!). My advice with your hair is if you don't want to wear a hat ( I'm not a hat person, it always makes me look a little like a garden gnome ) pin it out the way. I'm not saying just stick a grip in it ( yuk), go out and buy yourself a pretty clip. A flower or something sparkly would do nicely. Firstly French plait the Front of your hair from your side parting and fasten with your clip. For those of you who can't French plait separate your fringe and just add as many small plaits as you can and then pin them all back with your clip ( quick, effective and pretty). Can't plait at all ( shame on you, that's bad 😂 come and visit and I will show you how) then back comb the front of your hair untill it stands up on its own, now leave it...... (Only joking) .... Gently comb over the top with a paddle brush to smooth the top layer and you guessed it, fasten with your clip... Now grab yourself a cocktail and go and enjoy the sun ...
Let me introduce you to the lovely Sophie Pitts. Sophie joined the team as an apprentice and amazed us with her hairdressing skills and soon became a talented hair stylist. Sophie very quickly built a loyal clientele creating some stunning results and now is always booked up. Sophie lives at home with her mum, dad , sister and younger brother. She enjoys keeping fit, spending time with friends, family and partner Romeo. Sophie is quite simply one of the loveliest people I have had the pleasure of working with so you will have an enjoyable visit as well as feeling safe in her very capable hands.
Sophie likes are... shopping, chocolate, dancing and cocktails ( sounds like my ideal day) . Sophie dislikes are...being late for things, olives and being too cold!
Wake up with static strands flying everywhere on holiday???
Pack a satin pillow case to reduce static, giving you a smoother look in the morning.
